I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, a place that informed my love for all things African-inspired.
I played marimba in high school (after not connecting with the piano, cello or flute – boring!).
I studied Fashion, Marketing, and Printmaking in Durban. All these skills came together to help me establish KuNa Kids.
I worked for the retail giant, Foschini, as a Designer, where I learnt a lot about creating products people want.
I speak French, vraiment!
KuNa is named after my niece – Kunashe – who’s kindness, fun and colourful personality, inspired what the brand is today.
I am always inspired by print! I source and buy fabric before designing a collection, I let the prints and colours guide me throughout the design process.
I live with two cute and sassy Maltese poodles, Bella and Bono.
Every garment, pattern, and design sold has been handmade by myself and one phenomenal lady named Grace. Handmade collections lie at the core of what we do at KuNa Kids, to ensure the best quality and service for our clients.
I mentor and coach fashion startups in “The Art of the Start.” Please feel free to contact me for details, if you’re ready to take on the exciting world of startups 🙂
